Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The label debuted her first album titled Pho in the month of October 2016 where she started to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own release single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. In the following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some references for Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video came out on the 5th. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later made the track available as a single by herself for her debut album. In February of 2019, a music clip was released to promote the song. It already has over three millions views on YouTube within the first week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
